Donkin Roofing Limited was founded in July 1992, with current Company Directors’ Owen Barker (Commercial Director), Brian Donkin (Contracts Director) and Lynne Donkin (Company Secretary). Office and site boasts some 50 years combined experience in the industry. This experience includes expertise in pricing, designing and installing numerous systems including secret fix, composite panel and conventional build up systems. Due to rapid expansion the Company now operates from its purpose built site at South Church Enterprise Park, Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
The current team includes a flexible staff of anywhere between 60 and 80 people at ay one time including sub-contract staff, office and management personnel. Donkin Roofing Limited now has a firm reputation in the industry which has spread nationwide with contract locations as far apart as Glenrothes in Scotland, Cardiff in Wales and Ruislip in London.
In February 2003, Donkin Roofing Limited was awarded Investors in People, continuing to maintain the initial standards set to retain status. Owen Barker, Brian Donkin and Lynne Donkin are currently Fellows of the Institute of Roofing. Brian Donkin is a former regional Chairman of the Yorkshire and North Eastern Counties N.F.R.C. with the Company still being a member. Donkin Roofing is also an approved installer of Gassell Products and Systems and a Platinum Approved Contractor in Partnership with Corus Panels and Profiles.
100% of the Donkin Roofing Limited workforce on site either currently hold a CSCS card or are working towards the NVQ to obtain this card. Donkin Roofing is currently applying for assessment centre status to provide NVQ II and III qualifications to roofing and cladding workers. Once set up this service will be offered externally as well as to in house operatives bringing further increased expansion to a currently thriving Company.
