Following the set up of the Company in 1992 it has enjoyed phenomenal expansion with an initial turnover in 1992 of £750,000 escalating to last years reported turnover (Year Ended 30th September 2006) of £11m. The Company is now a leading national operating roofing and cladding contractor. The maximum contract value currently priced is for £2m.
Brian Donkin a Company Director is currently responsible for contracts and all health and safety issues. Contractors employing the services of Donkin Roofing Limited include: J.F. Finnegan, Dew Pitchmastic, Barr Construction, Marshall Construction and John Mowlem. Clients include retail parks, leisure complexes, football grounds, chain restaurants and storage areas.
Sub-Contractors employed by the Company are all fully qualified in Mewps, Folk Lift and a member of each gang is required to hold a Banksman/Slinger certificate. Sub-contractors are employed from a number of bases nationwide to offer an efficient service to all parts of the country. In house staff provide a high standard of technical assistance to finalise specifications for all forms of architectural features as required by the client.
The Company has taken on board all the necessary pre-requisites of health and safety requirements and place close attention to set standards. Donkin Roofing has a fundamental commitment to its in house health and safety policy which undergoes frequent revision. It is Company policy to provide training and supervision where necessary to ensure that all employees/sub-contractors are fully competent in the workplace providing protection to health and safety. Each operative or supervisor must hold a current C.I.T.B test. These tests are then booked bi-yearly to update knowledge.
